Dear All,

I am facing a strange problem when i am posting the salary of the staff. We have units defined in the company i can process the data for unit 1 but when i process the data for unit 2 on the same form i get this error. Can anyone please tell the prblem it can be associated with. Please also suggest the solution for the same

This is what Oracle says:Oracle

ORA-01578
ORACLE data block corrupted (file # string, block # string)

Cause: The data block indicated was corrupted, mostly due to software errors.

Action: Try to restore the segment containing the block indicated. This may involve dropping the segment and recreating it. If there is a trace file, report the errors in it to your ORACLE representative.

Is everything OK with hard disk which contains data file(s)?

Thanks a lot for the reply

The error deos not show the block and the data number. How can i come to knw abt the details of the same. It only displays the error number and the message without the block and the data number

Is there, perhaps WHEN OTHERS exception handler in your form? It obfuscates many useful information so - if you find it - comment it and run the form again.

Alternatively, go to Help - Display Error menu and see whether it shows some more info.

Might also be worth seeing if there is any information in the database alert log or if a trace file has been generated as the message implies.
If you don't know where to find those, ask your DBA.
